University Selection Results Are Out: Celebrating Our Students’ Success

In rural Malawi, the path to university is often a difficult and uncertain journey. For many students, the dream of higher education is challenged by persistent barriers such as poverty, limited resources, and intense competition in the selection process. As a result, too many young people are forced to abandon their academic aspirations along the way. This is why gaining admission into university is not just an achievement. It is a remarkable milestone that reflects resilience, determination, and hard work. It is a moment worth celebrating, and today, we proudly celebrate these successes.

Meet the selected Students:

Odala Godfrey was supported from Form 1 to Form 4 at Madisi Secondary School. He has been selected to the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) to study Bachelor of Internal Auditing. A future leader in making!

Enala Mphaninga, has been supported from Form 1 to Form 4 at Dowa Secondary School. Ready to transform communities through agriculture, she has been selected to Mzuzu University (MZUNI) to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Value Chain Agriculture.

Annastanzia Nkhata studied at Nkhamenya Girls Secondary School with support from Form 1 to Form 4. She has been selected to the University of Malawi (CHANCO) to study for a Bachelor of Education (Geography).

From Nkhamenya Secondary School, Jennifer Sankhani has also reached a remarkable milestone after being supported throughout her four-year secondary journey. Her hard work and determination have earned her a place at the University of Malawi (CHANCO), where she will pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities, a proud step into her future.

Alifonsina Chadula, whose journey began at Madisi Secondary School, also carries an inspiring story of perseverance. Supported from Form 3, she has defied the odds and secured admission to the College of Medicine, where she will study Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Midwifery, turning her passion for care into a professional calling.

At the same Madisi Secondary School, Jonazio Stanley completed his secondary education with consistent support from Form 1 to Form 4. His efforts have now been rewarded with selection to the University of Malawi (CHANCO) to study Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration, stepping into a path of leadership and service.

Memory Gift studied at Dzenza Secondary School with support from Form 1 to Form 4. She has been selected to the University of Malawi (CHANCO) to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Computer Networking Engineering.

Roselyn Tambala, from Lilongwe Girls Secondary School, has taken a bold leap into the tech space as well. With support from Form 1 to Form 4, she has been selected to the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) to study Information Technology, a field that will shape the digital future.

Julita Augustine, also from Lilongwe Girls Secondary School, was supported throughout her secondary education and has been selected to the College of Medicine to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Midwifery, another strong step toward strengthening healthcare in Malawi.

Esther Bwanali, nurtured through her four years at Lilongwe Girls Secondary School, has earned her place at the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) to study Medical Microbiology, another critical field in advancing health sciences

From the same school, Violet Bewula has secured admission to the University of Malawi (CHANCO) to pursue Media for Development, using communication as a tool for change after years of dedicated support.

Melisse Banda was supported throughout her four years at Chayamba Secondary School. She has been selected to Mzuzu University (MZUNI) to study Bachelor of Hospitality Management, stepping into a vibrant industry of service and tourism.

Jeremiah Gibson, who was supported from Form 3 at Ngala CDSS, has been selected to the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) to pursue a Bachelor of Accountancy.

Alinafe Banda studied at Likuni Girls Secondary School and was supported from Form 1 to Form 4. She has been selected to the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) to study Bachelor of Business Administration (Marketing).

Finally, Cecilia Yohane, supported throughout her time at St. Chavara Secondary School, has been selected to the University of Malawi (CHANCO) to study Media for Development, continuing her journey in storytelling and advocacy.
