Empowering Malawi Through Ulemu Scholarship Program
Education as a Pathway Out of Poverty
At Orant Charities Africa, we believe that education is not only a basic human right, but a powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty. This is why each year, our Ulemu Scholarship Program opens doors for bright and determined students from underserved communities, helping them access higher education, build brighter futures and break out of the poverty cycle.
The Selection Process
For the 2025/2026 academic year, we received an overwhelming 142 applications. Out of these, 65 candidates were shortlisted for further verification based on three key criteria: , Proven financial need, no access to other scholarships or university loans,
and clear ambitions and academic goals.
After a thorough review and field verification, 7 outstanding students were selected to receive full scholarships to pursue four-year degree programs at top public universities in Malawi. We are especially proud that four of the selected students are alumni of our secondary school support program , now continuing their journey to tertiary education through Orant’s continued support.

Each Ulemu Scholar receives comprehensive support including tuition fees,
food and accommodation stipend. This ensures that our students do not have to worry about the cost of education and can instead focus on their academic goals.
With this new group of scholars, we now have 21 university students under the Ulemu Scholarship Program, a number that continues to grow each year. These students are studying to become Doctors, engineers, agribusiness professionals, communication specialists, and more, all contributing to the future of Malawi.
Gratitude to Our Supporters
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all our partners, donors, and supporters. Your generosity is doing more than just funding tuition. It is transforming lives, uplifting communities, and shaping the next generation of Malawi’s leaders.
