Building a Brighter Future for Kabuluzi Primary School Learners

Building a Brighter Future for Kabuluzi Primary School Learners
Upon visiting Kabuluzi Primary School, one striking feature is sure to capture your attention, a newly renovated school block stands proudly. However, not so long ago, this same block was a far cry from its current state, evoking fear and concerns among students, teachers, and parents. It was full of termites and could have collapsed at any time.
But what was the process like?
Our Education Program initiated a needs assessment to determine which schools required support the most urgently. This assessment indicated that Kabuluzi Primary School, one of 22 primary schools within our catchment area, was the most in need of assistance. Upon identifying Kabuluzi Primary School’s pressing needs, we embarked on the renovation journey. The scope of this renovation encompassed several critical upgrades, including: replacing iron sheets, installing a new floor, ensuring proper ventilation and lighting, replacing damaged timber and repairing walls.
The renovation project spanned a period of four months and was completed in April Upon its completion, we officially handed over the newly renovated school block to Kabuluzi Primary School.
The transformation is complete
We are proud to witness the transformation of Kabuluzi Primary School. The once-dilapidated facility has been renovated, providing a conducive learning environment that has attracted a substantial increase in enrollment at the school.
With the transformation, the school’s enrollment has increased from 217 to 312 learners. This growth is a direct result of the school’s improved infrastructure, which has made it an attractive option for parents and guardians seeking quality education for their children.
Chiyembekezo Nkuthiwa, a teacher at Kabuluzi Primary School, is thrilled with the impact of the renovation. “We are confident that the improved learning environment will translate into better academic performance as students are now more focused and motivated. We are expecting to see significant improvement in their grades by the end of this school term.”
The effect on our learners

The renovation has also had a profound impact on the learning experience at Kabuluzi Primary School. Students now benefit from the facilities, including proper blackboards, that have transformed the way they learn. The new blackboards have enabled teachers to deliver lessons more effectively, leading to improved academic performance and increased student engagement.
“My favorite part of the renovation is our new blackboard. It has made learning so much easier, and our teachers can now write clearly. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn in such a good environment,” says Alinafe Justin, a Standard 7 learner at Kabuluzi Primary School.
We could not be more proud of the progress made in transforming the learning experience of learners at Kabuluzi Primary School and we extend our gratitude to our generous donors for supporting this initiative. Your contributions have made a significant difference in the lives of hundreds of learners, providing them with a foundation for a bright future.
